Market Watch brings the 9 companies listed on the Maldives Stock Exchange onto a single page: last traded prices and movement at the top, order-book depth and the MASIX index beneath, and the exchange's own news and announcements below.
The exchange is small, and the order book is thin. A single trade can move a counter several percent, and days can pass with no trade at all in a given name, so a price here is best read as the last price somebody paid rather than as a continuous market quote.
Methodology
Where the data comes from
Everything on this site is read from stockexchange.mv, the exchange's own website. It publishes no API, so a script in this project parses its public pages on a fixed schedule. What follows is what that script reads, how often, and what it cannot tell you.

How often, and what that means
This is a periodic read rather than a streaming feed, and the exchange itself publishes only the last completed trade. A figure here is therefore the last price somebody paid as at the time stamped above, not a live quote.
The trading calendar
Non-trading days come from the exchange's published trading-holiday calendar, so the market status accounts for Eid, Ramadan and the rest rather than weekends alone. The hours themselves are configured in this project rather than read from the exchange, which announces temporary changes as PDF notices that this site links to but cannot parse.
If the exchange cannot be reached
The site falls back to the last snapshot saved in this project and says so at the top of the page. Stale numbers are never presented as current.
What the exchange does not publish
These are not shown here, because there is no source for them:
- Traded volume per company
- Shares in issue
- Market capitalisation per company. Only the exchange-wide figure is available.
Figures derived rather than published
One figure on this site is calculated rather than read: the absolute price move in Rufiyaa, computed from the last price and the published movement percentage. It is arithmetic on published numbers, never an estimate.
News and announcements
Items from the exchange are carried as headline, category, date and the exchange's own summary, each linking to the source. Full article text stays on the exchange's site.
