Amana Takaful (Maldives) PLC has completed assessment and disbursed settlement for a major claim involving a safari vessel valued at USD 1.5 million.
The vessel was extensively damaged and submerged after catching fire while stationed in waters near Hulhumale'. No passengers or crew members were injured in the incident.
The claim was assessed and concluded within a notably short period given the scale and complexity of the case, marking one of the largest vessel claims settled during the company's history.
Amana Takaful said the settlement reflects the core purpose of the Takaful model: supporting participants facing unexpected losses and helping them recover from events that could otherwise carry serious financial consequences.
For businesses, the company noted, vessels and similar major assets go beyond physical property, supporting daily operations, generating income and sustaining livelihoods. An unexpected event affecting such assets can disrupt an entire business, making appropriate Takaful coverage an important tool for managing risk and recovering with confidence.
Amana Takaful Maldives said it remains committed to responding to claims fairly and efficiently, providing participants with the support they need during difficult circumstances.
