BML sets $3,500 monthly ATM cash withdrawal limit for dollars
Bank of Maldives has introduced a monthly limit of $3,500 per customer on USD cash withdrawals at ATMs, effective 1 October, as part of its push toward digital-first banking.
Bank of Maldives (BML) has reaffirmed its commitment to building a digital-first banking experience for the Maldives, introducing a monthly USD ATM withdrawal limit of $3,500 per customer, effective from 1 October 2026. The existing daily limit of $1,600 per card remains unchanged.
The move reflects BML's broader direction toward a steady transition away from reliance on physical cash, in favour of faster, safer and more convenient digital payments and a more efficient financial system.
The bank said it has invested significantly in digital channels that make everyday banking possible without cash. Customers can pay, transfer and manage their money anytime, anywhere through BML Mobile Banking and Internet Banking, make card and contactless payments at merchants locally and abroad, and send funds instantly to other accounts.
